For our first review, we WOULD LIKE TO WRITE ABOUT CAMP ROCK. Lets clear something up right now. It sucked. The movie that got over 100,000,000 views across america sucked! This was just a stupid movie that the producers tried to create. Tryin isn’t good enough. I was looking forward to it because it looked like High School Musical, which I typically enjoyed, but then I saw it and it was nothing but bologna. Demi Lovato as an actress was ok I guess, but as a singer all she did was SCREAM! Am I out of my mind here or what? The Jonas Brothers I couldn’t care less about. You know what, their acting sucked too. Here is a review that i found in another wordpress site that says, well, it sucked.
Camp Rock is getting not so good reviews! What ever it will still be a hit. Here is a review from Canada.com: So I was actually looking forward to seeing Camp Rock; it looked like High School Musical, except that Ashley Tisdale was not involved (always a plus) and while I didn’t care one..
..way or the other about the Jonas Brothers, I was willing to give them a shot. But bogged down by clumsy writing, unclear morals and kids so perky that Kristin Chenoweth would tell them to calm down, Camp Rock does not live up to High School Musical’s example. Full review here.
USA Today: And now the law of diminishing Disney returns strikes the live-action tweener musical with Camp Rock, a recycling of the two High School Musicals that fails to qualify as camp or rock, or fun.
Which doesn’t mean that it won’t be a huge hit, or that anyone whose household includes one of the movie’s target 9-to-14 tweeners won’t be hearing the songs all summer. Even so, adults who found the HSM movies unexpectedly charming are likely to be less charmed this time around.
The kids themselves may notice that Camp Rock is not as well written, acted, sung, danced, directed or choreographed as the films on which it’s based. Full review here.
Washington Post: Alas, although she’s likable enough, Lovato just doesn’t have the same sparkle as a Miley Cyrus, or an Ashley Tisdale, for that matter. And though her music is in the same dance inspiring, easy to memorize mode as that of the HSM franchise, it’s not as catchy.
